Hello,
No matter what part of the world you grew up in, you like me, probably grew up on a diet of stories. However in my day, no one had ever dreamed of a character called Harry Potter.
Instead, the most popular stories were Aesop’s Fables, stories by Hans Christian Andersen, and the Little Golden Books.
But it wasn’t until the late 1980’s, when I did my NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) training that I was introduced to a different kind of story – strategic stories
These stories have nothing to do with the children’s classics, or great works of fiction.
Strategic-Storytelling is about …
♥ telling a specific story,
♥ at a specific time,
♥ to a specific audience,
♥ for a specific reason, and with
♥ a specific outcome in mind.
And when I began to use strategic-storytelling,
I was amazed at the results
I've given some examples of strategic-storytelling in action in my white paper The Magic and Power of Strategic-Storytelling.
Over the years, my belief in the power of strategic-storytelling was such that when I worked as an academic, I taught strategic-storytelling to all of my Leadership Skills, and Change Management, MBA students.
Then around the year 2000, I noticed that strategic-storytelling was being introduced to major off-line companies - the big organizations. And that area of strategic-storytelling has been growing exponentially ever since.
And now here I am, part of the internet marketing community. As a result, I've studied the work of dozens and dozens of medium to very high profile internet marketers.
And what I've discovered is ...
something that you too might have noticed. And that is ...
1. That ALL the top internet marketers talk about the importance of using stories when communicating with customers.
2. MOST of the more successful marketers use stories in some form.
3. Only a FEW of them use stories in a really impressive way. In my workshops I'll give you some examples.
4. NONE of them teach you the do's and don'ts of using stories.
5. That there is a gap between what the top internet marketers are telling you to do, and techniques about how to do it.
